An online map indicating all existing wind energy turbines and wind farms under development in Bulgaria was officially launched today. “It is the result of in-depth research of the market for wind energy in Bulgaria”, says Arjan Visser, managing director of Djadadji. “We felt that it was time to bring all this information together and show in detail the developments of this economical sector, which has quickly emerged in the last full years in Bulgaria and has led to substantial interest from investors”. The projects sets an ambitious goal to maintain an up-to-date list of project information including the location, capacity of the wind farm, performance and ownership of the wind projects in Bulgaria, both for existing and planned wind farms. This information product offers reliable information both for academics, students and people ‘surfing the web’, and also for professionals, including investors, wind turbine manufacturers and land owners. The map can be very useful as a means to connect to investors or to get an overview of projects in windy regions of Bulgaria. The main page of the site leads to the map with a geographical overview of all projects in the database. The icons in blue mark operational projects and the gray ones are for the planned wind farms. After a click on any of the icons, specific information appears which is free for all visitors. Further, there is a premium product for interested professionals. The map is designed as a Google-maps application, and is linked to a detailed database. The information in it comes from carefully selected listings and sources, gathered during the last years that the owners, Djadadji EOOD, have been active in the markets for clean energy. Work is in progress to also include a list of solar photovoltaic and bio-energy projects, as well as to extend to neighbouring countries.
